A Resource For Men

We Help Men As Well

Let’s not forget that men have pelvic floors too. Men struggle with many pelvic floor dysfunctions, but unlike women, they are much more unlikely to mention anything to a healthcare provider. This means that men will struggle with incontinence, sexual dysfunction, pain unnecessarily for years!

Dry Needling

dry needling utilizes thin, solid filament needles to help access points deep in muscles. Dry needling can also be used to “communicate” with the nervous system to help reset a faulty signal. Oftentimes, the target of the needles is muscle trigger points, which can cause pain, decreased flexibility and dysfunction in the muscle.

Pilates-Based & Functional Exercise

Rehabilitative exercise should look like the movements you use in your daily life. That’s why at Holistic PT, your exercise program is designed with you in mind. We focus on core strength and stability as well as returning normal function and mobility to the body.

Shock-wave Therapy

Also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT),it is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. It delivers focused energy pulses to the injured area to reduce pain and promote healing. It increases blood flow to the area and promotes a healing environment.

Manual Therapy

This encompasses joint mobilizations and manipulations, soft tissue mobilization, fascial and visceral mobilizations. As a certified orthopedic manual therapist, Jenn can mobilize or manipulate most joints in the body. The goal is to restore mobility and to reduce pain. Dysfunction and pain can arise from soft tissue as well. This includes your fascia, muscles, tendons and ligaments

Nutritional Therapy

As an expert in the human body, it is important to include nutrition in the conversation as well. Physical therapy can incorporate dietary advice, nutritional counseling and supplement recommendations to help with the healing process. Often with pelvic floor dysfunctions like constipation or urge incontinence, it is important to evaluate the nutrition of that client and give recommendations on easy changes to support our internal systems.
